Illicit sales of drugs is the top employer of African Americans in the ghettos. Take that away, and you'll have to start paying out more welfare checks again.

bigdog, who cares if the drugs have negative effects. Alcohol and tobacco are two of the most dangerous drugs in the world. Some people abuse them, but most people use them safely, just like the people who use illegal drugs. People need to be educated about drugs and their dangers, not thrown in jail for most of their lives.

Without the war on drug/user, lot's of gov't employee will lose their job,not to mention the fund will go to other dept.instead. No DEA, no case 4 DA, no overtime, no warrent to be served by local paramilitary darth vader, thus no fund 4 equipments. Sorry the tax money r not refundable. Drug is bad but robbing our $ for a phony "war" is worse. Try ban the alcohol again, w/ the FEMA, Patriot-act,ID card,Homeland security,it might work this time.

I have one question for you... Do you think Osama Bin Laden would be as powerful as he is today, if it weren't for the war on drugs? "allof you who are against the drug war probably use or have used in your life" I don't see how this is relavent, that is attacking the debater and not the arguments sat forth.. It would be like telling a black man during the 1800's, that his thoughts on slavery is null, because he is black. Marijuana's biggis long term effect is the criminal record..

dont worry officer, once the fascists running this country get a bio-chip implanted in everyone it will essentially eliminate drug profits and hence make it unattractive to peddle the stuff. now i dont do drugs but i like to have a few beers when i go fishing. it makes me feel relaxed and sometimes a little buzzed. but ya know, ive thought about this and i cant help feeling hypocrytical for using a substance to alter my mood just because its a liquid and happens to be legal. whaddya think?
